Steven Kell is a wildlife biologist, conservation photographer, and cinematographer whose work is rooted in protecting species at risk and the ecosystems they depend on. Based in Ontario, he leads conservation initiatives with Shawanaga First Nation, where his research focuses on species at risk, including bats, lake sturgeon, turtles and rattlesnakes. This work has a strong focus on indigenous stewardship and community collaboration.
Through both photography and film, Steven documents the often-overlooked creatures and intersections between wildlife and human infrastructure, capturing stories that highlight resilience, adaptation, and the urgency of conservation. His cinematography and visual storytelling have been featured on series throughout CBC, BBC, TVO, and ATPN and are driven by field-based experience, bringing an intimate and informed perspective to the natural world.
