
David lives in Paradise, Newfoundland and Labrador, where he serves as a Provincial Park Ranger and works part-time as a Marine Wildlife Guide and Captain. Deeply rooted in the landscapes and seascapes of his home, he is a dedicated wildlife conservation photographer whose work supports leading environmental organizations, including the Nature Conservancy of Canada, the Canadian Parks and Wilderness Society, Nature Canada (NL), Parks NL, and the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador.
With more than 25 years of experience behind the lens, David’s career has taken him from instructing photography at Memorial University of Newfoundland to capturing powerful ocean wildlife encounters along Newfoundland’s rugged coastline and landscapes. His work reflects a deep passion for storytelling through imagery, educating and inspiring others to value and protect nature, both on land and at sea.
In recent years, David has worked with National Geographic and Canadian Geographic photographers, these experiences further strengthened his commitment to conservation, leading him to dedicate his photography fully to environmental initiatives and advocacy.
Raised in Labrador, David developed an early connection to the natural world and a passion for photography passed on to him from his father. With a deep rooted lineage of hunters, fishermen, and sea captains he choose a different path. While honoring that heritage, David has committed his life to giving back to the land and sea using impactful imagery to protect the very places that shaped him.
