Laura Ramsey

Laura Margaret Ramsey (she/her) is an experienced imaging specialist and archivist with over seven years of professional experience in cultural heritage. She has successfully implemented archival standards and file management workflows for a variety of collections and institution types including: The Image Centre, Edward Burtynsky Studio, Elaine Ling Studio and Greenpeace Canada. Ramsey currently teaches a masters level course in Digital Applications for Collections Management and is passionate about the democratisation of cultural heritage through digital access.
Her artistic practice uses data visualisation and sonification to explore the natural world, and is informed by archival structures, computational ecosystems, and the ethical considerations of non-human animals, plants and machines. Her work has been exhibited recently with Critical Distance Gallery (Toronto, Canada), InterAccess (Toronto, Canada), and Fragments of Sonic Extinction (virtual - Munich, Germany).
