Yuri Choufour is a Canadian natural history & expedition photographer, who’s been fascinated with the natural world since early childhood. After obtaining a diploma in professional photography and an award for photojournalism in 2010, he sought out assisting opportunities with Art Wolfe Inc. and quickly found world travel & teaching photography to be some of his true callings. Choufour is most driven to create images that cultivate a greater appreciation for the natural world, in hopes of helping to preserve biodiversity in the Anthropocene. His photos are sold to galleries, tourism companies, and as fine art prints.
Working as a photographer, photo instructor, and guide has brought Yuri to many of the world’s last truly wild places including: Antarctica, Svalbard, Greenland, Great Bear Rainforest, Alaska, Patagonia, Galapagos Islands, South Georgia Island, Falklands Islands, Iceland. When at home on Vancouver Island, he enjoys hiking, snowboarding & mountain biking.
